data base server

jlajax wrote:

Greetings,

I have created the data base and uploaded my files noob that I am.. What I cannot determine is when the name of my data base server is. Is it the same as my domain name? If so how do I ceck to make sure that I have done everything correctly before transfering DNS? I want to make sure that I have done everything right since I am such a nood at this phase of things. I reckon I am gonna learn real fast though grin. So far everything has gone smooth as silk. I simply am trying to get things right.

:ravens:

When you create the database name and/or user name, the name you select is pre-fixed with your hosting account user name. For example, if your hosting account user name is johndoe then your database/user name will be prefixed with johndoe_.

If you used the cPanel MySQL Wizard to step you through the process you should have seen confirmation screens. Also, if you select the MySQL Databases in cPanel, you will see all your databases and user names.

You can also select Help on most functions and then select Video Tutorials to assist in understanding what to do.

The Documentation link at the bottom of the main cPanel screen will lead you to a wealth of information

SAK wrote:

OK, you've known me for years and while I'm by no means an expert at web development, I'm not too darn bad. I run a lot of websites and do a fairly good job

However, I've never setup SSL before I've always had someone else do it for me, etc. So finally I decided to learn this.

I've got a couple web stores that run zen cart, and I've been able to secure the admin area with YOUR certificate, but I'm totally lost when it comes to using my own (purchased from godaddy).

I seem to have installed the certificates in cpanel, but now what

Sorry about being late on this response. I never saw it until just now. I think I may have a caching issue. Anyway, that's my problem!

You aren't setup to install Certs. At least I don't believe you are. I will have to install it for you. I will PM you with more information.
